Becoming a CAR Legislative Liaison
A few weeks ago, you may have received a brochure from C.A.R. asking you to invest a few minutes of your time in your business and your industry by becoming a Legislative Liaison.
In this challenging economy, it is even more critical that every REALTOR® stays abreast of legislative and regulatory issues that may affect you and your clients the most. This year it is possible that:
- mortgage interest deductibility could be threatened,
- onerous point-of-sale mandates will be proposed, and
- new and more expensive transfer taxes and fees will be considered.
And very critically, C.A.R. will continue fighting to increase the availability of real estate financing.
Your job as a Legislative Liaison is simple. Just read the twice monthly e-mails you receive from C.A.R.'s Government Affairs Team.
