Ombudsman

What is the Ombudsman Program?

Sometimes people disagree with each other and may find themselves in a dispute with one of our CNAR members.  Although there is a formal complaint system operated by the Association, you may be able to find a solution that is fast and effective by using our Ombudsman Program without the formal paperwork required in the Ethics Process.

The ombudsman uses communication and conciliation in an attempt to settle the dispute in a timely way by contacting both parties and by identifying misunderstandings.  When time may be of the essence this program may be more expedient for all parties.

Who is an Ombudsman?

An ombudsman is an experienced broker who volunteers their time to assist in timely resolution to matters..

What they will not do…

Ombudsman do not determine facts, violations nor do they adjudicate matters.

What if we do not come to a reasonable conclusion?

If the parties are not able to reach an agreement, the complainant may proceed into the formal complaint process for ethics violations. Ombudsmen do not work on arbitration matters involving monetary requests.
